Library Cards
Am I
eligible to get a Camden County Library card?
You are eligible for a card if you belong to a
member community. If you
do not belong to a member community, you may get a one-day guest card
for computer use only.
How do
I get a library card?
Bring two forms of identification with your name and address.
You can also
apply for a
library card online.
Can my
child get a library card?
Yes. The child must come into the library accompanied by a
parent or guardian, and the parent or guardian must show two forms
of identification showing name and address.
What if
I don't have my library card with me?
You may use an ID with your name and address.

Borrowing
Materials
How
long can I keep materials?
You can keep books, books on cassette and books on CD for three
weeks. High demand materials may be kept for two weeks.
Videos, DVDs, and Musical CDs may be kept for one week. Back issues
of magazines may be borrowed for one week.
Do I
have to return materials to the same location I borrowed them from?
No. Materials can be returned at any Camden County Library
branch.
What if
the item I want is already checked out?
You may place a request in person, over the phone or online.
Call your local branch or use
CamCat, our online catalog.
What if
the item I want is only in another branch?
You may place a request and pick it up at the branch of your choice.
What if the item I want is not owned
by the Camden County Library System?
You can request that we purchase the item, using our online
Wishlist/ Interlibrary Loan. If the request falls in
our guidelines, we will either purchase the item or borrow it from
another library.
How do I
find out what I have checked out?
You can use My Camcat
in our online catalog, or call any branch with your library card
number.
How do I renew materials?
You can renew using the
My CamCat feature of our
online catalog. You can also use
our automated telephone renewal system. Call 856-772-3486 or
856-770-0846.
How do I get notifications when my holds are
ready or books are overdue?
When you get a library card you will be asked if you want e-mail or print
notifications. Print notifications are mailed to any patron who has not
requested e-mail notifications. You will get a notification if an item is
overdue, or if an item you have requested is available. Patrons receiving
e-mail notifications will also receive a notification when an item is due in
three days. To receive e-mail notification instead of print, go to
My CamCat and click on
"Modify Personal Information." Enter your e-mail address in the e-mail
address field and click on "Submit."

Returning Materials and Fines
What
are the fines if I don't return materials on time?
The fine for books, books on cassette, books on CDs, and magazines
is $.10 per day. The fine for videos and DVDs is $1.00 a day.
The maximum fine for any one item is $6.00
Can I
return books when the library is closed?
Yes. You may return items at our outdoor book drops.

How
much are photocopies?
Photocopies are $.15 per copy. There are no color photocopiers
available.
Do you
have a typewriter that I can use?
Typewriters are only available at the Voorhees branch. You
must bring your own paper.
Are
there study rooms in the library?
There are study rooms in most of the branches. Call your
local branch for more information.
Does
the library have meeting rooms available?
Most branches have meeting rooms available for public use. You can now reserve
meeting rooms online. Reserve a room.
Do you
have a fax for public use?
There is no fax available for public use.

Where can I find program information?
You can find our newsletter,
The System, at all our branches. In
addition, you can sign up to have these newsletters mailed to your

programs?
Yes, there is Internet access and word processing at all branches.

Yes. You may check your online e-mail accounts on the public
computers at any of our branches.
Does the library have a scanner?
The library does not have a scanner for public use.
Where can I make color printouts?
Color printouts are available at the Voorhees and South County
Branch.
Collection Questions
What Camden County phonebooks do you have in
your collection?
We have Camden County phonebooks dating back from 1960 to the
present, with the exception of the 1968, 1976, and 1984 volumes.
