About the Vogelson Regional Branch

On June 19, 2004 the Voorhees Regional Branch of the Camden County Library was renamed the M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch.  The library was renamed to honor M. Allan Vogelson, the former County Freeholder who led the planning efforts to build the facility.  County and township officials, fellow judges and the library community joined Judge Vogelson in celebrating the facility's renaming.

Vogelson, a Cherry Hill resident and State Superior Court Judge, was elected to the County Board of Freeholders in 1971. As Freeholder Director, he worked with the Rouse Company, who donated land across from the Echelon Mall for a freestanding library, to plan the building that resides at 203 Laurel Rd. The Library moved to its new, centrally located headquarters  in 1977.
